Alianza Corporación Stein-Hospital Clínica Bíblica

Como parte de esta alianza fue inaugurada la primera biblioteca médica en internet: INFORMED, con el fin de facilitar la actualización de los profesionales de la salud.

Esta biblioteca contará con una moderna plataforma de consultas de la base de datos más grande del mundo MEDLINE. Los profesionales de la salud tendrán una herramienta novedosa y moderna para actualizar sus conocimientos en beneficio de sus pacientes.

Dentro de las actividades programadas para esta inauguración, se invitó a la Máster en Bibliotecología, Marcía Epelbaum quien dictó dos conferencias tituladas “Búsquedas efectivas en internet en la literatura biomédica”. La señora Epelbaum es subdirectora de la Biblioteca Médica Eskin de la Universidad de Vanderbildt, ubicada en Nashville, Tennessee. En sitios medline y en pubmed, están las bases de datos biomédicos más importantes. Allí hay más de 4.600 revistas de ciencias de la salud que se pueden accesar. “No obstante, si una persona pretende buscar esto como busca normalmente en Internet, le arrojará tantos resultados que se sentirá abrumado, y muchos de ellos no le servirán” comentó la Master Epelbaum.

Para la Corporación Stein, ésta alianza con Hospital Clínica Bíblica, es parte de una serie de acciones y programas que promovemos con el fin de contribuir con la educación médica continua de los profesionales de la salud. “La idea es apoyar la búsqueda de la excelencia de quienes están día a día enfrentados con los nuevos desafíos y retos que presenta la práctica médica”, comentó su Presidente el Dr. Isaac Waserstein
